These Times Are Sweet

I was driving yesterday, thinking of the more challenging aspects of my present life moment - a 15 year old car, staying in a very small town with a remarkably imbalanced ratio of isolation to socialization, living in the mystery every day of what is to come, where will I live, who will I meet, what will unfold.

Thoughts like these often generate uncomfortable feelings, tension, and stress in my body, but in a decision to do things differently in 2015 I remembered one of the teachings I find to be most true: the present moment is all I have. Future moments that I try to plan or fear how they will turn out are made up in my mind, and most likely in those future moments I will miss the sweetness of these peaceful times right now. 

I brought my attention to what was going on right now. I was sitting in the seat of the car, feeling the force as I went around a curve, breathing in fresh air, seeing beautiful skies. Suddenly I realized these times are SWEET! Everything is exactly perfect for me right this minute. Everything! Even in this mystery moment I get to choose to love Right Now, or feel tension Right Now. In creating my present reality, which creates my future moments one present split-second at a time, I stay present by asking: how do I feel now, and now, and now? That's 3 nows of Love! Living in the vibration of love paves the way for more love vibration in the future, so by loving Right Now I am creating past, present, and future bliss!!!!

Now I embark on an adventure to South America. I leave today and will spend time in Peru and Brazil. I cannot wait to learn from these beautiful cultures! I feel an overwhelming sense of mystery and excitement, and will practice presence by soaking in the pleasure of these covers under which I write now, the sunlight coming in the window, and the feeling of awe and gratitude I have in my heart. Like two suns in the picture above, I wonder how my perspective will shift as I explore ways other cultures perceive this world. 

I don't know how the phone captured two suns the other morning, but isn't it breathtaking and totally dramatic!!! May you have two or three or ten suns shining upon you anytime you so desire, and may their light bring you instantly into awe and bliss and love of your own present moment!

And right now, may you live the feeling: these times are sweet!
