Hear This Beauty

abadiania brazil dawn

You can almost hear it, right?

Abadiania, Brazil. I don't know if it was the natural beauty there, or the fact that the town is built on a mountain-sized deposit of quartz crystal, but every minute in this South American oasis was magical. One of my favorite things was hiking up this hill each morning and evening to see 360 degree sunrises and sunsets. I also loved making trips to a nearby waterfall, sharing communication exchanges with the sweet locals, and meditating, quite easily, in the beautiful vibration that permeated this town.

As I'm integrating again into the life of the USA's western world flow, it is quite different and yet full of opportunities to practice what I've learned in traveling. One of my favorite phrases this year has been "surrender", and I was recently reminded of another brilliant way to say it: "Let Go".

A friend shared a guided meditation with me yesterday that asks you to imagine you are flowing down a gentle river and you see a big beautiful oak tree hanging low up ahead. As you get close to it you reach out and hold on to one of its branches. It's easy to envision the feeling of your motion stopping, the sound of the water rushing faster around you, and the tension that starts to build in your arm the longer you hold on. Then the guide says, "Let Go". And ahhhh you're flowing once again down this peaceful, beautiful river, all love, awe, and fun.

May you have opportunities arise today to let go, feel your pleasure flow, and hear the beauty around you sing!

All love and symphonic sunrises,

Lucinda
